Office-Related Pain?
Don’t be a Victim…
Are you one of those lucky computer-users who’s never had pain? Well, guess what – you’re in the minority. Ask any group of people who use a computer if they’ve had pain in their back, hands, arms, shoulder or neck over the past 12 months, and most will say ‘Yes, I have’.
Well, did you know:
• 51% of office workers are affected by back pain each year
• And 80% will have another episode within two years if they don’t make changes
• In fact, statistics show that neck pain isn’t far behind, along with shoulder, elbow and hand pain.
And don’t think this only happens in offices. You’re as much at risk at home, at college or using the PC in the library! You never know when pain will start. You can be fit as a flea one minute, and unable to work the next.
… so, why not stop it before it starts?
Oh, yes you can!!!
In fact, Positive Posture is all about putting you in control, so you can protect yourself from pain and deal with things before they become a problem.

Protecting Young People
These days, more and more young people suffer from back pain. Inactivity, sitting in poor postures at school and at home, all contribute.
The pain these young people suffer from initially is Postural Pain. There’s no damage to their tissues, and the minute they move into good posture, the pain immediately stops. However, if they sit badly for too long, too frequently, the picture changes. They then cause damage to the soft tissues, the pain doesn’t stop when they move because the tissues have to repair. This is Dysfunctional Pain.
Alarmingly, there’s evidence to show that young people with back pain grow up to be adults with back pain.
We can prevent this happening by getting them into good habits early on. Which is exactly what Positive Posture does!
